A dream wedding or special event package, including venue hire, welcome drinks and specially negotiated discounts at a range of local suppliers, is being offered at auction in aid of a children’s cancer charity. The Orchard at Munsley, a luxury wedding venue, has teamed up with a local caterer, wedding band, cake maker, ice cream trailer, hire ware firm and more to offer the bespoke wedding/event package.
Couples planning to tie the knot in April or September next year are encouraged to place a bid. All proceeds from the sale, which is live until 15 October, will benefit #BeMoreFrank, a named fund of the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust.
#BeMoreFrank provides grants to the family of every child with cancer in Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Powys, Monmouthshire, Ceredigion and Gloucestershire. It recently began providing financing to fund a Herefordshire childhood cancer family support worker for three months. A successful auction could allow it to extend this funding.
Emma Cleal, founder of #BeMoreFrank, said:
‘This auction offers a wonderful wedding or special event for a lucky winner. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, what it will also do is help provide a vital financial lifeline to a family in distress. I’ve been there and it’s harrowing. When your child has cancer, all any parent wants is to be able to concentrate on being at their bedside, not worrying about bills. But it’s not that simple. Treating childhood cancer is normally a years-long, devastating process and financial hardship too often compounds acutely traumatic stress.
‘I want to thank those who submit bids for supporting families going through desperately tough times on what I truly hope is the happiest day of their lives. And this auction really is about making sure that day is spectacular.
‘There are few things more exciting – or daunting – than planning a wedding or significant event. We’re delighted to be able to offer a lucky winner the complete package so that they have a spectacular big day.
‘We’ve teamed up with the most beautiful outdoor wedding venue in Herefordshire for an amazing party for 50 guests, including welcome drinks. What tops it off is that so many local wedding specialists have agreed to offer discounts on the whole suite of services you need for the perfect day.’
The Orchard at Munsley provides complete versatility for any style of wedding, with a choice of luxury tipis. The winning bidder has a choice of three dates next year: 20 April 2024, 14 September 2024 or 21 September 2024.
Jayne Pritchard, owner of The Orchard at Munsley, said:
‘We couldn’t be prouder to support the wonderful work #BeMoreFrank does to offer a vital financial lifeline to the families of local children fighting cancer. That’s why we didn’t hesitate to offer our wedding venue as a prize in this unique auction.
‘We’re here to provide a glorious location with the personal touch. The Orchard at Munsley offers an exceptionally picturesque, unique and special wedding venue hidden away in the stunning Herefordshire countryside. The beautiful surroundings offer the perfect venue for your big day that you’ll remember forever, and your guests will talk about for years to come.

About #BeMoreFrank:
Frank Cleal was diagnosed with osteosarcoma aged 11 in 2019 and, after two years of treatment, including intensive high toxicity chemotherapy to try to combat an exceptionally aggressive childhood cancer, passed away on 4 June 2021 aged just 13. Frank was amazing, cracking jokes until he was no longer able to speak or communicate. For his family, among the many devastating challenges childhood cancer posed, financial support was a critical help. Friends, family and the local community rallied round to raise money so that his parents could concentrate on being at the hospital bedside, rather than worrying they couldn’t afford to be. The kindness of friends and strangers – the financial support offered to a devastated family – was at least one less stress to worry about. #BeMoreFrank is a fund set up to raise money to help local families battling childhood cancer. It has raised £132,000 and counting.
